The Base527 module is a complete multichannel analyzer with integrated bias supply and preamplifier for PMT based detectors. It may be used for gamma-ray spectroscopy applications with NaI, LBC, SrI2 or similar scintillation detectors. All parameters are computer adjustable.
This module is suitable for detectors with B14 socket photomultiplier tubes like the Hamamatsu R6231 or R1306, but its also available with B12 socket, see the end of this data sheet for variants available.
The whole system is entirely powered from the USB interface or by Power over Ethernet (Ethernet version). Due to the integration of all hardware components required for a gamma spectroscopy system in one package, only one USB cable or Ethernet cable is required to connect the detector to a computer or network switch. This simplifies the usage and lowers
the total costs of the gamma spectrometer. The Base527 can by operated with nearly all application programs available for the MCA527 product family such as WinSpec, WinMCS or MCAtouch.
Variants of socket connection for different PMT
As there are different photomultipliers available, there are different variants of the Base527 socket connection available. This is to document the principal schematics of the available variants. Other connections, principally also with negative HV, on request.
